Measurement procedures for DTS devices under 15.247

Kindly note that the FCC has updated the measurement procedures for DTS devices under 15.247. See KDB 558074 at: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/kdb/forms/FTSSearchResultPage.cfm?id=21124&switch=P . Kindly note that D01 Meas Guidance v01 replaces the previous Guidance - Measurement of Digital Transmission Systems Operating under Section 15.247 March 23, 2005. Either guidance’s can be used up to April 30th 2012; the appropriate guidance must be used entirely for an application. Starting May 1 2012 only 558074 D01 Meas Guidance shall be used.

Measurement procedures for UNII devices under 15.407

The FCC has also recently updated the UNII procedures as well for 15.407 See 789033 at https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/kdb/forms/FTSSearchResultPage.cfm?id=52935&switch=P This test procedure replaces and supersedes guidance contained in Public Notice DA 02-2138 of August 30, 2002. Applications for equipment authorization received on or after January 1, 2012 are required to use the procedures specified in 789033 D01 UNII General Test Procedures v01. Applications received prior to that date may employ either the 2002 guidance or 789033 D01 UNII General Test Procedures v01 in entirety.

The separation distance shall not exceed 25 mm between the device and the flat phantom to show compliance for bystanders. Additional configurations regarding SAR testing for laptop type computer (laptop mode/tablet mode) are not required if the separation distance of 25 mm for bystanders represents the worst-case configuration."
