Applies to equipment that uses RF energy for non-communication purposes such as heating, welding, and medical diathermy.
  • Part 15, Subpart C – Intentional Radiators
Regulates devices designed to intentionally emit RF energy for communication (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, remote controls).
  • Part 15, Subpart E – U-NII Devices
Covers Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure devices like Wi-Fi routers operating in the 5 GHz band, with or without DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection).
  • Part 15, Subpart F – Ultra-Wideband (UWB)
Governs UWB technology used in applications like radar imaging, through-wall sensing, and location tracking.
  • Part 15, Subpart G – Broadband over Power Line (BPL)
Covers systems transmitting data over electrical power lines.
  • Part 15, Subpart H – White Space Devices
Regulates unlicensed devices operating in unused TV broadcast channels.
