ISED Update:

License-Exempt Radio Apparatus Operating in the Frequency Bands

ISED is seeking comments on the consultation of RSS-295, issue 1, License-Exempt Radio Apparatus Operating in the Frequency Bands 116 116-123 GHz, 174.8 174.8-182 GHz, 185 185-190 GHz and 244 244-246 GHz ”.

This standard sets out the requirements for certification for license license-exempt devices operating in the frequency bands 116 116-123 GHz, 174.8 174.8-182 GHz, 185 185-190 GHz, and 244 244-246 GHz.

Comments are due no later than April 05, 2024.

The draft documents along with the form to provide comments are available on the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC) website.

TCB – FCC Update:

ECR Issues of WPT Products

Discussion results from the TCB-FCC conference call on 12/12/23 on “ECR issues of WPT products”.

Generally speaking, FCC Part 15 products do not require an ECR inquiry, and FCC Part 18 products that meet the six conditions of KDB 680106 D01 Wireless Power Transfer v04, section 5.2 do not require an ECR inquiry. However, if the FCC Part 18 product does not meet any of the six conditions of KDB 680106 D01 Wireless Power Transfer v04, section 5.2, an ECR inquiry is required and ECR-WPT is selected. View More

FCC Update:

New Rules for 6GHz VLP Devices

  1. The FCC has included VLP products in part 15, which can be applied in the 6GHz band. The specific frequency bands used are U-NII band 5 & and band 7. The publication date of this document is January 8, 2024. (page 1)
  2. The relevant supplementary agreement will take effect on February 7, 2024. The effective date of this document is March 8, 2024. (page 2)
  3. The definition of VLP is in part 15.403, and the technical requirements are in part 15.407. (page17)

FCC – 关于 6GHz VLP 设备的新规定

  1. 此文件的发布日期是2024 年1 月8 日。FCC 将 VLP 产品纳入part 15，可以应用在 6GHz band，具体使用频段是U-NII band 5 & band 7。（page 1）
