RSS-247 Update
2023年8月3日，加拿大发布RSS-247 Issue 3,发布之日六个月后制强执行，过渡期间 两个版本均可使用。
Radio Standards Specification RSS-247, issue 3, Digital Transmission Systems (DTSs), Frequency Hopping Systems (FHSs) and License-Exempt Local Area Network (LE-LAN) Devices, replace RSS-247, issue 2, dated February 2017.
The main changes are listed below:
- Added section 2.1 to include information on the document coming into force.
- Modified section 6.2 to clarify that different measurement methods can apply depending on the operating frequency range of the device.
- Added section 6.2.5 to introduce the requirements for devices operating from 5850 5895 MHz and channels that span across 5850 MHz.
- Added section 6.2.5.1 to provide general information and definitions.
- Added section 6.2.5.2 to identify the power limits associated with devices operating in the 5850-5895 MHz band.
- Added section 6.2.5.3 to identify the unwanted emission limits associated with devices operating in the 5850-5895 MHz band.
- Made editorial changes and clarifications, as appropriate.

Transition Period for SPR-002 Issue 2 is Coming to an End

This is a friendly reminder that the 12-month transition period contained in ISED’s SPR-002 issue 2, during which certification using the requirements of SPR-002 issue 2, or issue 1 is accepted, is coming to an end in October 2023.
After this period, only applications for certification of equipment using SPR-002, issue 2, including its probes requirements outlined in Sections 7.1.6 and 7.1.7, will be accepted and equipment manufactured, imported, distributed, leased, offered for sale, or sold in Canada shall comply with this issue. Many CABs already have equipment that satisfies the SPR-002 requirements; however, ISED is receiving an increasing number of inquiries regarding suitable probes to be used. ISED notes that it would not be appropriate for it to recommend a particular probe vendor and/or model. Provided the SPR-002 probe requirements are met, ISED would consider the probe being used by a CAB to be acceptable. CABs that are uncertain if their probes are compatible with SPR-002, issue 2, are encouraged to contact their equipment vendors, probe manufacturers, or industry partners to find suitable probes.
