Launch of the ISED Spectrum Allocation Tool

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is pleased to announce the launch of the new Spectrum Allocation Tool on the Spectrum and Telecommunications Sector (STS) website.

This modernized tool streamlines access to the numerous regulations governing spectrum use in
Canada. Designed to empower stakeholders, the Spectrum Allocation Tool enables users to efficiently obtain comprehensive information regarding the rules for spectrum and wireless equipment.

With user-friendly features and advanced functionality, the Spectrum Allocation Tool simplifies the navigation of regulatory requirements, making it easier than ever to access the information you need. Users can easily identify the relationships between spectrum policies and technical standards prior to applying for certification.

ISED encourages you to explore the Spectrum Allocation Tool today on the STS website and discover how it can enhance your understanding of spectrum regulations in Canada.

Please note that in addition to having access to this tool immediately, ISED intends to perform a demonstration of this tool and its benefits at the next TCBC workshop in April 2025.

CONSULTATION ON:

RSS RSS-247, issue 4 – Digital Transmission Systems (DTSs), Frequency Hopping Systems (FHSs) and License-Exempt Local Area Network (LE LE-LAN) Devices

ISED is seeking comments on the consultation of RSS RSS-247, issue 4, Digital Transmission Systems (DTSs), Frequency Hopping Systems (FHSs) and License-Exempt Local Area Network (LE LE-LAN) Devices This standard sets out the certification requirements for radio apparatus operating in the bands 902 902-928 MHz, 2400 2400-2483.5 MHz and 5725 5725-5850 MHz employing frequency hopping, digital modulation and/or a combination (hybrid) of both techniques.

The draft document along with the form to provide comments are available on the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC) website.

Comments are due no later than May 5th, 2025.

Question: What are the procedures for getting an equipment authorization for Part 90 subpart M and Part 95 Subpart L devices using C C-V2X systems for named entities under a waiver. KDB 511808

Answer: The Attachment, 511808 D01 C-V2X v02, below provides administrative and technical guidance to obtain a grant of certification for Part 90 subpart M or Part 95 Subpart L devices using C-V2X under Part 2 subpart J.
