Upcoming Effective Date for Version 5.3 ENERGY STAR Program Requirements for Televisions
Dear EPA-recognized Certification Body,
Please note that the effective date of Version 5.3 ENERGY STAR®
Program Requirements for Televisions is September 30, 2011.
Beginning September 12, EPA will no longer accept administrative
changes to products certified to Version 4.2. As of September 30,
all products qualified to Version 4.2 using the Version 4.2 data
submission form will be removed from the list of ENERGY STAR
qualified products. Certification bodies may only certify product
models to Version 5.3, and submit them using the Data Submission
Template in My ENERGY STAR Account (MESA). The online Qualified
Product list will contain only those products that have been

certification bodies should ensure that they are using the correct
Data Submission Form corresponding to the appropriate specification
